Throughout my graduate career, social media and digital platforms have been an integral tool of communication and community engagement, especially in my role as a Graduate Assistant at the Sloane Art Library at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for the academic year of 2018-2019. In this position, I became the lead social media manager for this library and managed the multiple social media platforms. Additionally, I have been the Webmaster of the Art and Museum Library and Information Student Society as well as the Digital Coordinator for the Art Student Graduate Organization. As such, I have included some items that I have created throughout the years to demonstrate this interest.
Below are a selection of materials that I made as the Social Media Manager of Sloane Art Library at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Specifically, I included all of the material that I made for Women’s History Month, March 2019. I’ve included the images, with brief description, as well as embedded links to specific Instagram posts. All of these materials were published at @SloaneArtLibrary
Introductory post about the the National Museum of Women in the Arts campaign #5WomenArtists and how we will be celebrating throughout the month.
Each week, we picked a theme to focus on for the women artists, ranging from women of color, queer artists, to women book artists. After posting the 5 Women Artists that we were featuring this week, each day, we posted a story providing a brief biography of each of the artists. Each week, the Instagram stories followed the same format, with a different format featured each week. Below are the five Instagram stories for one of the weeks.
